On Monday, March 3, 2008 the lives of a local firefighter's family changed forever. Lt. Rafael "Ray" Vazquez was an innocent bystander gunned down and killed while waiting in line at a local fast food restaurant. Vazquez, formerly a Town of Lake Park firefighter, was assigned to Rescue 28 at Station 28 in Royal Palm Beach. Vazquez is survived by his wife, an officer with Palm Springs Public Safety, and their five children, ages 4-21.

There will be a comedy show and raffle fundraiser to benefit the family of Lt. Vazquez, on Saturday, March 29, 2008.

What: Fundraiser to benefit the family of Lt. Ray Vazquez.
When: Saturday, March 29, 2008. Doors open at 7:00pm, and the show starts at 8:00pm.
Who: 21 and older.
Cost: Tickets are $10 at the door.

The Elks will be donating a portion of the night's admissions, drink sales and all proceeds from the raffle to the Vazquez family. There is limited seating: first come, first served.
